Michael's first major Mandala took two years to complete. During this time he was working as a landscaper in West Vancouver and he became a father to his daughter, Mithra. Michael's visual capacities were extraordinary, allowing him to see craters on the moon with his naked eye. He developed the concentration to paint these miniature figures over a number of years, learning to relax his eyes thus overcoming headaches and eyestrain. The images are eclectic, blending many of the spiritual traditions including Christianity, Buddhism and Hinduism.
